Mildred Valkonet is a Dutch based artist, illustrator, graphic designer, psychologist and researcher. She uses history, folk culture, photography and film, psychology and nature to explore the meaning of relationships within families and between human and nature. Her works often explores the need to communicate that what is hard to communicate in daily life.
Mildred has a BFA from the Acamedy Minerva in Groningen and a MFA from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. She studied psychology in Rotterdam and Leiden and got her master in 2011. She has worked as an artist and exhibited in group and solo exhibitions several times between 1999 and 2007. After being silence for almost a decade she began drawing and painting again in 2014.
